Between 1989 and 1993, Peter was Campaign Manager for the RFDS’s Aircraft Replacement Appeal, a fundraising initiative to help replace the Services ageing aircraft fleet. This was the first appeal of its kind for the RFDS. Peter conducted a feasibility study which determined an initial target of $8m. He then directed the campaign, acquired naming rights for the aircraft, and introduced a public fundraising concept built around the Services commitment to a maximum “90 minutes away from life saving care”. Through Peter’s management, over $9.5m was raised for the RFDS Aircraft Replacement Appeal.
